Need an all-purpose concentrate you can count on to get all your surfaces clean quickly without harsh chemicals? Try Voom! RV Cleaner.
There are dozens of products on the market designed to clean RVs, both inside and out, and most are dedicated formulas that have specific purposes — which means that you’ve probably accumulated a large assortment of spray bottles and containers filled with cleaning products. Unfortunately, all those cleaners take up a lot of space — not an optimum solution in an RV. Years of struggling with storage issues and leaking bottles led me to seek out a solution; the search ended when I found Voom! RV Cleaner (roadmasterinc.com).

Voom! is produced and marketed by Roadmaster, the company that hangs its hat on tow bars and suspension products, so it seemed like somewhat of an incongruity for the company to be in the cleaning space. But the owner, Jerry Edwards, is a consummate entrepreneur — and when he stumbled on Voom! he bought the company and actually bottles this stuff in his factory.

Voom! is biodegradable and free of petroleum distillates, making it suitable for just about any surface with the exception of some fabrics (which are clearly defined on the label.) Basically, according to Roadmaster, Voom! can be used on any surface that’s not harmed by water. Still, like any cleaning product, test it first in an inconspicuous spot to make sure there are no issues. Since this is my go-to cleaner, I use it to clean the bathroom, carpet, rubber roof, patio furniture, kitchen appliances or anything else that gets dirty. It’s also a decent grease-cutter. You can also dilute the concentrated solution with water for many jobs — just test the proportions on various surfaces; for most of my cleaning, I use it full strength. You can also find a dilution chart on the Roadmaster website that covers pretty near anything you’d use the cleaner on (roadmasterinc.com/products/care_clean/dilutionchart.html).

The most cost-effective way to buy Voom! RV Cleaner is in 1-gallon containers (well, unless you need a 55-gallon drum of the stuff). It’s also available in 32-ounce spray bottles. Price varies depending on the seller, but the latest 1-gallon container was purchased on Amazon for $23.82, which is the best price I ever found. Voom! RV Cleaner is free of petroleum distillates and is biodegradable.

It’s best to transfer Voom! into a standard-size spray bottle, which is convenient for most cleaning chores. You can also fill another spray bottle with a diluted mixture with water and mark it accordingly.

Cleaning the stove is always a chore. Voom! cuts through grease and spilled food with little effort.

Voom! is my go-to cleaner for just about all surfaces in the RV. It works well when spot cleaning carpet, especially in the tow vehicle, and can even remove stubborn black streaks and those dirty finger marks from opening and closing the compartment door. Voom! and a microfiber cloth also make short work for restoring the original luster of patio furniture.

It’s most effective to buy Voom! by the gallon and “decant” the cleaner into a spray bottle that’s marked accordingly. Although prices vary, the latest container I purchased on Amazon only cost $23.82. Many RV supply stores also carry the cleaner. Combine Voom! with a good microfiber cloth and you’ll have a cleaning combo that’s hard to beat. I use it just about every day — when I recently ran out, I went into withdrawals.
