Conservation Alliance Continues to Grow
There are a number of groups working behind the scenes to protect places outdoor enthusiasts recreate. One of these, The Conservation Alliance, recently announced a number of new members to a growing list of more than 250 companies. The additions include Dometic, an RV supplier focused on mobile living known for its lines of hygiene, sanitation and climate controls.
According to The Conservation Alliance, member companies pool their resources to fund and advocate for the protection of North America’s wild places. Alliance funds have played a key role in protecting rivers, trails, woodlands and climbing areas.
Since its inception in 1989, The Conservation Alliance has contributed more than $25 million and awarded in excess of 700 grants. The funds helped to protect more than 73 million acres of wetlands, 3,575 miles of rivers and purchased 17 climbing areas. Funding by the alliance also helped to designate five marine reserves and stop or remove 36 dams.
